Fawcett Memorial Hospital - Located in Port Charlotte, with 238 beds. Fawcett Memorial Hospital has been serving the needs of the area since 1975. Clinical specialties include Emergency Care Center, Stroke Center, Oncology Unit, Cardiac Cath Lab, Surgical Care, Orthopedics, 2 Intensive Care Units,  Fawcett Sports and Rehab Services, Wound Management Center etc.

Peace River Regional Medical Center- Located in Port Charlotte, with 220 beds. Cath lab, The Birth Place maternal/child center, Pediatrics Unit, Cancer Unit, Emergency Care Center, Peace River Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on premises, Peace River Home Health

Charlotte Regional Medical Center - Located in Punta Gorda, with 218 beds. Charlotte Regional has received “100 Top Hospital” status from Solucient, a nationally recognized healthcare information company.  They have received awards two consecutive years for the cardiac care services they provide and have also received the 100 Top Hospitals award for their stroke services.

Arts and Culture:

The Cultural Center of Charlotte County - The Cultural Center of Charlotte County is a one-of-its-kind facility conceived in 1960 and now covers 8 acres.  They have the fullest calendar of events you can imagine!  Facilities include a Theater that seats over 500, plus the Conference Center that can accomodate up to 1,000!  A large part of the Cultural Center is the Learning Place which offers over 150 classes, ranging from meteorology to metaphysics, languages to line dancing, ballet to bridge, and woodworking to word processing!  And, that’s just a sampling of what is offered each semester by experienced instructors eager to share their knowledge with others.

There is always something happing in the theater.  Tickets are sold at the door at all events, but the best seats sell out quickly, so it pays to buy your tickets early.  The box office is open from 9 am - 4 pm Monday - Friday, 10 am - 2 pm on Saturday.   Check the  schedule of upcoming events for a wide range of entertainment choices.

The Arts and Humanities Council of Charlotte County is the place to learn about the cultural happenings in Charlotte County. The art gallery exhibit rotates monthly.  The Council is Charlotte County's "Chamber of the Arts."

The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra presents its 29th season of music. Classical Series: Nov. 11 Speak of the Devil, Jan. 20 Operatic Obsession, Feb. 24 Anticicpating Spring, March 16 Tchaikovsky Spectacular, April 13 Mostly Mozart. Pops Series: Dec. 2 Holiday Magic, Jan. 27 At the Movies, March 30 The Blue Violin. Concerts: Sunday, 7:30 p.m. Center for Performing Arts and Education, 701 Carmalita, Punta Gorda.

The Center for Performing Arts and Education is Charlotte County's learning and entertaining stage. The 2008-09 season will entertain  with music, dance, drama, laughter, and learning. This sensational facility is the result of an unprecedented partnership between the School Board of Charlotte County, the Charlotte County Board of County Commissioners, the Punta Gorda City Council, the State of Florida, and numerous community organizations. This is a very special place due to it's diversity of entertainment, educational, and cultural opportunities offered for the community.
